Gwendolen May (Rutter) Harvey
Gwendolen May (Rutter) Harvey, 92 of Point Marion passed away Saturday, October 17, 2009 at home with her family by her side. She was born May 19, 1917 in Kirbymoorside, Yorkshire, England, daughter of John Milburn Rutter and Gwendolen (Pike) Rutter.
Gwendolen was a member of The Fallen Timbers Community Chapel of Point Marion, and had served with the British Women’s Land Army in England during World War II.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years John L. Harvey; three sons, John G. Harvey and his wife Michelle of Newton Falls, Ohio, Loren A. Harvey and his wife Joy of Springfield, Virginia, Clive E. Harvey and Carol Munday of Maidsville, West Virginia; three grandchildren: Clive E. Harvey II of Uniontown, Pennsylvania, John S. Harvey and his wife April of Toledo, Ohio, Amy R. Harvey of Warren, Ohio; three great grandchildren: Trinity, Drew, and Rory; and several nieces and nephews in England.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Stanley, John, and Edward Rutter.
Friends will be received in the LOUIS E. RUDOLPH FUNERAL HOME, Thomas B. Rudolph, Funeral Director & Supervisor, 15 Main St. Point Marion on Monday, October 19, 2009 from 7 – 9 p.m. and on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. the Hour of Service with Reverend R. Scott Teets officiating.
Interment will follow in Wolf’s Cemetery, Dilliner, Pennsylvania. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Albert Gallatin Home Care and Hospice, 102 South Main St., Masontown, PA 15461.
