David R. Gray
David R. Gray, 87 years of White Rock, Uniontown, Pa., passed away in the Uniontown Hospital with his loving family by his side and went to be with his Lord Jesus Christ on Saturday, October 17, 2009. He was born on April 23, 1922, at White Rock, Georges Township, Pa., son of the late Morris R. Gray and Isa Mae Hart Gray.
Dave was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Navy.
He was a lifelong member of the Little White Rock Church.
Dave was employed for many years as a butcher with Foodland Market and was employed in the maintenance department of the Albert Gallatin School District until his retirement.
Surviving are his loving wife of 60 years, Emma E. Snyder Gray; a son, Jerry D. Gray and wife Marlene O. Gray of Uniontown, Pa.; grandchildren, Jerry D. Gray Jr. and wife, Christina L. Gray of Fairchance, Pa., Carly D. Bricker and husband, Michael A. Bricker of Fairchance, Pa., Jason D. Gray and wife, Jennifer Gray of Connellsville, Pa. and Joshua D. Gray of Youngwood, Pa.; great-grandchildren; Malayna L. Gray, Torren E. Bricker, Taylor N. Bricker and Samara J. Gray; brother, Samuel Gray of Gibbon Glade, Pa.; sisters, Beryl Tait of Uniontown, Pa., and Ethel “Toots” Davis of Harrisburg, Pa.; nieces and nephews; and special caregiver and friend, Tammy Gordon.
The family will receive friends in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa., on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday, October 21, 2009, until 11 a.m., the hour of service with Pastor Jim Handschumaker officiating.
Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park, Brownfield, Pa., with military rites being accorded.
