Robert G. Bowen, age 62, of Uniontown, Pennsylvania died Friday, October 16, 2009 in the Uniontown Hospital. He was born September 11, 1947 in Canton, Ohio the son of Jack C. Bowen and Edythe G. Glenn Bowen.

Mr. Bowen was a member of Saint John The Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church and American Legion Post 51 both in Uniontown.

Over his working lifetime, he had been employed as a Structural Ironworker, later was employed by Health Mart and retired as a Service Mechanic for a local over the road trucking company.

Robert was an avid fan of the Pitttsburgh Steelers and also enjoyed baseball very much.

He also loved reading and studying history and had a passion for feeding the neighborhood birds.

Survivign are: his loving wife of 39 years, Joyce A. Gratchic Bowen; a son, Shawn G. Bowen and wife Gina of New Salem, Pa.; a grandson, Chase Dallan Bowen whom he dearly loved; and two faithful and loving dogs: Nanette and Gidget.

Friends will be received in the JEROME W. SHELL FUNERAL HOME at 164 South Mount Vernon Avenue, Uniontown, on Tuesday from 6 to 8:30 p.m. when a Blessing Service will be conducted by the Rev. Thomas J. Wesdock.

Interment will be private.
