Thelma Jane Palmer (Cox) Latsnic, age 85, of PennCraft, Pennsylvania passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2009 in the Uniontown Hospital. Born February 29, 1924 in Brownsville, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of Percy Palmer and Mary Jane “Jennie” (Bennet) Palmer.

Thelma was a member of the West Bend Methodist Church, the Hiller Volunteer Fire Department Social Club, West Brownsville American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the Brownsville Eagles.

To help in the war effort during World War II, she served as a Crane Operator for Republic Steel and in the years to follow was a Secretary for the Monongahela Railroad.

She was a Legal Secretary for Attorney Sloan, a Secretary_ Director for the Uniontown Lawyer Referral Service, the Secretary for Magistrate Anthony Shuli, a Seamstress, Title Clerk, and retired as a Notary Public.

Thelma had a love for dancing, irises and daffodils, sewing, travel, baking and shoes.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, George A. Cox; her second husband, Charles Latsnic; two brothers, Albert Palmer and George Palmer; and two sons-in-law, Alfred DeFigio and Stanton Petko.

She is survived by two daughters and a son: Beverly DeFigio, Carolyn Bungard and her husband Troy, George Cox and his wife Theresa; grandchildren: Shelly Illig and John Younts, Troy Allen Bungard, Jonathan and Melissa Bungard, Crystal Bungard, Matthew and Carol Cox, Melanie and Joe Cashmore, Joshua Petko and Samuel Petko; great grandchildren: Madison and Landon Cox, Emma and Kalie Cashmore; four sisters and two brothers: Mildred and Don Snyder, Peggy Moore, Mary Jane Vetick, Barbara and Don Sindledecker, Walter and Phyllis Palmer, David Palmer; beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and extended Family in England; special friends and neighbors: Lois Bohna, Leoda Baker, Jennie Orbash and Stella Lawson.

Friends will be received in the DEARTH FUNERAL HOME, New Salem, Pa., on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Thursday, October 22, 2009 until 11 a.m., the hour of Service with the Rev. David Chin, her Pastor, officiating.

Interment will follow in West Bend Cemetery, East Millsboro, Pennsylvania.
