Anna J. Toth
0000363683-01-1.jpg Anna J. Toth, 93 of California, PA, formerly of Frederick-town, died Friday, October 16, 2009 in the Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. She was born September 6, 1916 in West Point, NY a daughter of the late Felix and Ida Metz Atz.
Mrs. Toth was formerly employed by the Beth-Center School District in the cafeteria.
She was a faithful member of the St. Oliver Plunkett Parish, Fredericktown where she was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and the Christian Mothers of the church. She and her late husband were founding members of the St. James Church in LaBelle, PA and she was also an active member of the Center in the Woods, California.
She enjoyed reading, conversation and being around people in general. Mrs. Toth also enjoyed traveling. She greatly enjoyed the several trips she took across the country with her son, but especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
On January 28, 1935 she married John J. Toth who died November 9, 1969.
Surviving are nine children: Pauline P. Bujarski of Spruce Creek, PA, George Toth (Charlotte) and Richard Toth (Louise) both of Parma, OH, John M. Toth (Judie) of Tacoma, WA, Emiliann Gold (Irving) of San Diego, CA, Michael Toth (Tina) of Denbo, PA, Christopher Toth (Margaret) of Clarksville, PA, Deborah Boback of Carmichaels, PA and Selene Sowden of Pittsburgh, PA; one brother, Henry Atz of Hermitage, PA; 24 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Deceased in addition to her husband and parents is a brother, Rudolph Atz and a sister, Gladys Garity.
Friends will be received Thursday from 4 to 9 p.m. in the GREENLEE FUNERAL HOME, 42 Bank St. at Crawford Road, Fredericktown, where a Blessing Service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, October 23, 2009 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in the St. Michael Church, St. Oliver Plunkett Parish, Fredericktown with Rev. Paul Grunebach as celebrant.
Interment will be in the Greene County Memorial Park, Waynesburg. The Christian Mothers will recite the Rosary at 4:30 p.m. Thursday and a Parish Vigil Service will be held at 7:45 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the St. Oliver Plunkett Parish, PO Box 638, Fredericktown, PA 15333 or the St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 213 Fourth St., California, PA 15419.
