Leo M. Geballa, 79, of Glen Burnie, MD died Monday, October 19, 2009 at his residence. Born December 26, 1929, he was the son of the late Leo L. Geballa and Julia Novotney Geballa.

Leo was born in Brier Hill, Pennsylvania and was a 1947 graduate of Redstone High School. He moved to Maryland in 1956 and was employed by the Department of Defense at Fort Meade for 42 years.

He was a 54 year member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church where he was a lector for many years. Leo was a lifetime member and past Grand Knight of Knights of Columbus, Holy Trinity Council No. 3413 and Sir Knight of Pope Pius VI Assembly. He enjoyed duckpin bowling and playing handball.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Ann Bill Geballa of Glen Burnie; two daughters: Christine Zeller and her husband, Len of East New Market, MD and Michele Catlin and her husband, Milton of Sharptown, MD; a son, Leo M. Geballa and his wife, Stephanie of Pasadena, MD; four grandchildren: Matthew, Nicholas, Zachary and Alexandra and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Gloria Manchas and Maryann Callan.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 22, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM in the SINGLETON FUNERAL HOME, 1 Second Avenue, S.W., Glen Burnie, MD. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 1 PM in the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 7436 Baltimore & Annapolis Boulevard in Glen Burnie.

Interment will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Park.
