Free flu shots offered at health center

By Herald Standard Staff 1 min read

CONNELLSVILLE – The Wesley Health Center will offer free flu shots to those age 19 and older during an Oct. 31 clinic at its Connellsville location. The flu shot is for the regular seasonal flu only, according to center officials.

“Anyone is eligible for a flu shot regardless of their income level or whether they have or do not have medical insurance,” said center executive director Marilyn Weaver. “Anyone over the age of 19 can take part in this clinic.”

The free health care center opened its doors in 1993 and has provided medical care to thousands of patients with the assistance of public and private funding, charitable contributions and aid from area medical providers.

While there is no charge for the flu shots, donations will be accepted.

The center is located at 410 S. Pittsburgh St. Flu shots will be administered from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
