Jean Santariello Mene, age 80, of Uniontown, Pa. passed away Thursday evening, October 22, 2009 in the Uniontown Hospital. She was born August 8, 1929 in Uniontown, Pa. the daughter of the late Michael Santariello and Mary (Poletz) Santariello.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Louis J. Mene on April 10, 2007 and her loving son, Thomas Mene in May of 2004.

Jean was a member of St. Therese R. C. Church and the Church Altar Society. She was a 1947 graduate of the Uniontown Area High School and graduated from California University with a degree in education. She earned her Master Degree from West Virginia University. Jean was employed with the Uniontown Area School District working at the East End School and then was the Gifted Coordinator with the district.

Jean is survived by her loving children: son, Louis M. Mene and wife Colleen of Bear, Delaware; daughter, Luanne Ryan and husband William of Pittsburgh, Pa.; daughter – in – law, Carolyn Mene of Houston, Texas and five grandchildren whom she loved and adored: Andrew, Anna and Michael Mene, Jack Ryan and Kirby Mene.

Friends will be received in the KEZMARSKY FUNERAL HOME, 71 Pennsylvania Avenue, Uniontown, Pa. today, (Sunday, October 25, 2009) from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday, October 26, 2009 until 9:30 a.m. when a Blessing Service will be held followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Therese Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Michael W. Matusak V.F., Pastor as celebrant.

Interment follows in Oak Lawn Cemetery.

Parish Wake Service will be held today at 3 p.m. and the Altar Society will recite the Rosary at 3:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
