Masontown man sought for assault
MASONTOWN – Police have issued a warrant for the arrest of a Masontown man accused of indecent assault for inappropriately touching a 7-year-old girl in September. Masontown police Chief Joseph C. Ryan said charges of indecent assault and corruption of minors were filed against David Scott McKeon, 28, at the office of Magisterial District Judge Randy S. Abraham.
According to Ryan, police became aware of the alleged incident early this month when Fayette County Children and Youth Services approached them.
Ryan said that when he responded to McKeon’s residence to talk to him about the allegations, he admitted that he inappropriately touched the girl Sept. 7.
Ryan said that McKeon also admitted to officers that he knew the child was only seven years old and told police, “I did it before I thought about the consequences.”
Ryan said that McKeon told investigators that he knew it was wrong, but did it anyway. Ryan said that during an interview with the girl, she corroborated McKeon’s statements to police about the alleged incident. The Herald-Standard does not identify the victims of alleged sexual assault.
Anyone with information regarding McKeon’s whereabouts is asked to call police at 724-583-7779.
