A missing Lemont Furnace man was found late Friday after leaving his home earlier in the day. Police said Jasper T. Martin, 60, of Old Braddock Road was found in a wooded area about 11 p.m. suffering from exposure.

Martin, who suffers from emphysema, reportedly walked away from his home about 8 a.m., wearing no shoes and not carrying a needed inhaler.

His disappearance initiated a search of the area by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department Search and Rescue Team and Pennsylvania State Police Aviation.

Police said Martin had fallen in the wooded area, but other than suffering from exposure, was healthy.

Also assisting in the search were emergency personnel with the North Union, West Leisenring, Dunbar and DL&V volunteer fire departments, along with the Salvation Army.
