‘Why I’m Thankful’ feature returning to Herald-Standard

By Herald Standard Staff 1 min read

The Herald-Standard is bringing back its “Why I’m Thankful” feature for the Thanksgiving edition. Readers will be invited to write letters saying why they’re thankful this Thanksgiving. It will replace the “Letters From Home” feature, which ran for the past four years in the Thanksgiving edition.

Readers are still invited to write letters of thanks in memory, or in honor of friends or family members, who are serving in the armed forces.

Letters can be sent to the Herald-Standard, 8-18 Church St., Uniontown, PA 15401, faxed to 724-439-7578 or e-mailed to hsletters@heraldstandard.com.

Photos can be submitted with the letters. The people in the photos must be identified, and they won’t be returned unless a specific request is made.

The letters must be less than 300 words and must be submitted by Friday, Nov. 6.

The letters will be reviewed by a panel at the Herald-Standard and the top three winners will receive a free Thanksgiving turkey.

For more information, call Executive Editor Mark O’Keefe at 724-439-7569.
