Julia (Percy) Kimes
0000364149-01-1.jpg Julia (Percy) Kimes, 91, of Rices Landing, Pa., formerly of Carmichaels, died on October 27, 2009 at her home.
Julia was born on April 24, 1918 in Struthers, Ohio, the daughter of the late Francis and Teresa Bruckner Gessler.
On September 20, 1939, she married Martin F. Kimes, who died in 2003.
Julia was a member of St. Hugh Roman Catholic Church, Carmichaels. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren, friends and family.
She is survived by three daughters: Sharon Vajentic (Dominick), Washington, Pa., Kathleen Duchi (Steve), Pittsburgh and Gayle Caffrey (Bernie), Rices Landing, with whom she made her home; 10 grandchildren: Kirk Vajentic, Sharon Fraley, Julie Bish, Steve Duchi III, Ken Duchi, Ryan Duchi, Corby Caffrey-Dobish, Marty Caffrey, Katie Caffrey, B.J. Caffrey; 19 great grandchildren.
Friends will be received in the LESAKO FUNERAL HOME INC., 204 Dowlin Avenue, Carmichaels, Pa. 15320 (724-966-5100), Paul M. Lesako Funeral Director/Supervisor, on Thursday October 29, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A prayer service will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 at St. Hugh Roman Catholic Church, Carmichaels with the Reverend John Bauer, Celebrant.
Entombment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Pittsburgh, Pa.
Parish Wake Service will be held at 3:45 p.m. Thursday.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Hugh Roman Cahtolic Church, 408 Rt. 88 Rd., Carmichaels, Pa.
