Man charged

South Union Twp. Kevin Lake of Uniontown was charged with retail theft after he stole food from Wal-Mart Supercenter Monday morning, state police said. Franklin Twp. Charges filed

State police said Spenola Ammamoo, 31, of Smock was charged with simple assault after he beat and choked Shareace Hopkins, also of Smock, at a residence on Main Street at 2:40 p.m. Tuesday. Police said Hopkins was taken to Uniontown Hospital for medical treatment. Ammamoo was placed in the Fayette County Prison on $5,000 straight cash bond following his arraignment.

Connellsville Charges filed

Police have filed charges against the following individuals in unrelated incidents:

n Dale Naugle, 25, of Ogden Street for public drunkenness after he was allegedly found intoxicated in the 200 block of Ogden Street on Oct. 24.

n Leroy Grady, 54, Summit Avenue, Uniontown, for retail theft after he allegedly removed more than $100 worth of candy from Nickman’s Drug Store on Oct. 26. Police said officers were alerted by store security and apprehended Grady a short distance from the story. He was arraigned on the charges by Magisterial District Judge Ronald Haggerty and remanded to Fayette County Prison in lieu of a $5,000 cash bond.

n Michael E. Gibson, Dixon Boulevard, Uniontown with retail theft after he was allegedly found by Nickman Drug Store security Oct. 27 removing pills from a bottle offered for sale by the store.

Point Marion Fraud reported

State police said someone used a debit card owned by Karen J. Hughes of Point Marion to make multiple purchases between Oct. 21 and Monday.

Springfield Twp. Window smashed

Vandals smashed the rear window of a vehicle owned by Thomas Baglio of Mill Run while it was parked on Hampton Road between 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 11:45 a.m. Sunday, state police said

Centerville Two charged

Centerville police said David Miller Jr., 18, of Hiller and Danielle Harrell, 20, of Cokeburg were each charged with theft following multiple thefts from vehicles in the Richeyville area in August and September.

German Twp. Burglary reported

State police said someone broke into Brodak’s Shop N’ Save on Route 21 and stole money and other items Sunday or Monday.

South Union Twp. Cars collide

Vehicles driven by Amy Myers of Smithfield and Elizabeth Weigle of Uniontown collided on Matthew Drive at 4:40 p.m. Wednesday, state police said. Both women suffered injuries, police said.

Brownsville Warrant served

Brownsville police said they served multiple warrants for the arrest of Shawn Rea, no address available, at a location on Second Street Tuesday.

Brownsville Copper stolen

Brownsville police said copper pipe and wire owned by Charles Bradey of Brownsville was stolen from a home on Water Street Monday.

Brownsville Theft reported

Brownsville police said 30 lottery tickets were stolen from a business on Route 40 in Brownsville Tuesday.
