Eleanor J. (Oshinsky) Yantko, age 76 of New Salem, Pa., was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 3, 2009. She was born December 1, 1932 in Keisterville, Pa., a daughter of Julia (Phillips) Oshinsky Pawski of Uniontown and the late William Oshinsky.

Eleanor was a member of St. Procopius Roman Catholic Church, New Salem.

She was preceded in death by her husband Albert “Jim” Yantko in 2004 and her father.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by a son Vincent Yantko and wife Jane of Belle Vernon, Pa.; daughters Regina Palko and husband Richard of Leisenring, Pa. and Denise Sheetz and husband Brian of Lemont Furnace, Pa.; grandchildren: Samantha, Casey, Sophie and Jimmy Yantko, Adam, Nolan and Meredith Palko, and Janelle and Brandon Sheetz; brothers and sisters: William Oshinsky and wife Shirley of Streetsboro, Ohio, Barbara Novsek and husband Richard of Uniontown, Pa., Robert Oshinsky and wife Marianne of Mentor, Ohio and Elaine Rockwell and husband Delbert of Uniontown, Pa. Also surviving are two sisters-in-law: Cecelia Durant of Fairchance, Pa. and Elizabeth Yankovich of New Jersey.

Friends will be received in the ROBERT T. KISH FUNERAL HOME, 20 North Mill St., New Salem, Pa. today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, September 5, 2009 until 9:30 a.m. when a Prayer Service will be held. A Funeral Mass follows at 10 a.m. in St. Procopius Church with Msgr. J. Edward McCullough and Rev. Fr. Peter Peretti as Celebrants.

Interment will be in LaFayette Memorial Park. A Parish Wake Service will be held today at 7:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Eleanor’s name may be made to the St. Procopius Living Memorial.
