Walter H. “Wally” Laughery, Jr.
Walter H. “Wally” Laughery, Jr., 57 of Helena, Alabama and formerly of Uniontown, Pa., passed away Monday, August 31, 2009 in University of Alabama Medical Center, Birmingham, Alabama. He was born may 4, 1952 in Uniontown, son of Walter Sr. and Lois (Bryson) Laughery.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by a sister Linda Laughery.
Surviving are his loving wife Mary “Merili” (Caromano) Laughery; two daughters: Janelle Laughery and Lee Tressler of Little Brownfield, Pa., Kristie Laughery and fiance’ Jim Stack of Birmingham, Alabama; a granddaughter whom he adored Emily Tressler; one sister Lisa Costolo and husband Bob of Hopwood, Pa. and five nieces; his father and mother-in-law Fred and Dolly Caromano of Uniontown; two aunts: Bertha Thomas and Sally Sabo; a brother-in-law Fred Caromano and wife Brenda of Uniontown; a sister-in-law Sally Presser and husband Park of Uniontown.
Wally was a member of St. Therese de Lisieux R. C. Church. He was retired from U. S. Steel and was employed with MDS Trucking in Calera, Alabama. He enjoyed playing softball and working on cars.
Friends will be received in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, Hopwood, Pa. on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday until 9 a.m. when a Blessing Service will be held followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Therese de Lisieux R. C. Church with Msgr. Michael W. Matusak V. F. Pastor officiating.
Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park.
