North Union Twp. Man arrested

Rashid Yancey, 19, of Uniontown was charged with burglary and cited for criminal trespass, criminal mischief and disorderly conduct after he allegedly broke into the Woodview Terrace apartment of Jamie Umbel on Sept. 1, state police said. Police said that Yancey was also previously served with a no-trespassing letter by Woodview Terrace management because of previous disruptions, police said.

He was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Wendy Dennis and committed to the Fayette County Prison in lieu of $25,000 straight bail.

Uniontown police said Samuel Boyd of Uniontown was cited for criminal mischief after he allegedly vandalized the door of Nader Gholami?s apartment at 34 W. Craig St. door on Saturday.

Donald A. Dils of Uniontown reported two solar lights were stolen from his yard on Braddock Avenue sometime Friday night, Uniontown police said.

Retail theft charges were filed against Elizabeth Johnston of Uniontown after Johnston allegedly attempted to steal two candy bars from the Sheetz convenience store on New Salem Road at 6:58 a.m. Aug. 31, state police said.

State police said Caitlyn George, no age or address given, was arrested for disorderly conduct as a result of an incident that occurred at 532 Independence Ave. at 10:35 p.m. Aug. 21.

State police said 29-year-old James T. Campbell was arrested for disorderly conduct and criminal mischief as a result of an incident at 171 Circle St. at 7:20 p.m. Aug. 14.

Vehicle burglarized

Daniel V. Cosimato, 26, of New Salem reported items were stolen from his vehicle while it was parked at 238 Hill St. sometime Aug. 25 or Aug. 26, state police said.

Items stolen

State police said two Apple iPod Nanos valued at $499 were stolen from a car parked at the Uniontown Mall between 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. Aug. 31.

Vehicle stolen

According to state police, a vehicle belonging to Brian Lynch, 24, of Uniontown was stolen from the Road Side Tavern between 1:30 p.m. Aug. 30 and 2:30 p.m. Aug. 31.

Jewelry stolen

Betty Etling, 55 of Dunbar told police $3,800 worth of jewelry was stolen from a location on Ferguson Road between 1:30 and 2 p.m. Aug. 16, state police said.

Harassment reported

Summary harassment charges were filed against Jamie Lynn Miller, 31, of Smithfield after she allegedly punched a 17-year-old girl while the two were arguing at a Rose Circle residence at 9:10 p.m. Friday, state police said.

Police investigate fraud

State police in Uniontown continue to investigate a reported case of access device fraud in which someone made several fraudulent purchases totaling $797 using 41-year-old Connellsville resident Jacki Widener?s debit card. Police said the purchases occurred between Aug. 21 and 24, police said.

North Union Twp.

Crash reported

State police cited a 50-year-old Uniontown man, no name listed, for an unspecified traffic violation after the pickup truck he was driving reportedly lost its brakes as it was traveling on Route 119 near the intersection with Eberly Way, veered to the right and slid against the guardrail for about 15 feet before stopping. The accident occurred at 1:27 p.m. Thursday. The driver was not injured in the accident. He was wearing a seat belt, police said.

Fight reported

Police cited four males allegedly involved in a fight at the Redstone football field Friday night for disorderly conduct.

Brownsville Area School District police officer John Carney, Redstone Township and Brownsville Borough police responded to the football stadium on Republic Road at 10:07 p.m. after a fight broke out in the stadium bleachers, according to Redstone Township police.

In addition to being cited, the males were advised to leave and not return to the property.

Theft reported

State police said three people ? Paul M. Hensh, James Gable and Robert A. Marks Jr. ?reported that someone stole items from their vehicles while they were parked on Joanne Lane during the night on Sept. 2.

Man cited

State police said they cited Justin W. Crossland, 23, of Uniontown for harassment after an incident relating to a 23-year-old Masontown woman around 12:19 a.m. on Friday.

Truck stolen

Wilbur Cole Porter, 58, of Uniontown reported that someone stole his Dodge Dakota truck while it was parked on Charles Lane between Thursday and Friday, state police said.

Bike found

State police said a Mongoose Tactic mountain bike was found in a yard on Loch Lomand Street and was taken to the barracks. Anyone wishing to claim the bike should call the barracks at 724-439-7111.

Vandalism reported

State police said Ashley Ann Weimer, 26, of Uniontown reported that three boys used a slingshot to hit her vehicle with an egg around 8:30 p.m. Friday.

Man charged

State police said Shawn Joseph Ryeczek, 33, of Uniontown was charged with harassment after he allegedly assaulted an unidentified 29-year-old woman at a home on Show Avenue around 3:45 a.m. Monday.

James Braden Queer, 61, reported that someone broke into his mobile home on Monday evening and then fled in an blue vehicle, state police said.

Man charged

State police said Gary Lynn Brozik, 45, of Masontown was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a suspended license and other cited for other traffic violations. The charges and citations related to a traffic stop on Route 119 around 10:40 p.m. Aug. 31.

Man charged

State police charged Jeffry Craig Howell, 23, of Smithfield with possession of a small amount of marijuana after he was a found to be in possession of the drug on Aug. 9.

East Huntingdon

Man charged

State police at Greensburg alleged that Derek Vivio, 27, of Perryopolis stole a GPS unit from a Radio Shack at Countyside Plaza on Sept. 1.

Bullskin Twp.

Medicine taken

Lynn Myers, 25, of Mount Pleasant reported that someone took prescription medication from her home on McConnell Road between Friday and Sunday. Police said Myers also had the door handle of her car broken off.

South Union Twp.

Driver cited

William L. Friend, 48, of Uniontown and Shannon R. Pryce, 28, of Masontown suffered minor injuries when the car driven by Friend traveled partially into the southbound lane of Morgantown Road where it struck a car driven by Pryce, according to state police.

The accident occurred near the intersection with Chestnut Street at 1:55 p.m. Wednesday. Police cited Friend for a traffic violation as a result. The South Union Township Fire Department assisted police at the scene.

Both Friend and Pryce suffered minor injuries and declined being taken to the hospital, police said.
