Mary C. Kunselman, 94, of Jefferson, formerly of Washington, died Sunday, August 30, 2009, in Southwest Regional Medical Center, Waynesburg. She was born August 19, 1915, in Washington County, a daughter of Charles C. Caton Sr. and Lula Huffman Caton.
Mrs. Kunselman was a 1933 graduate of Trinity High School and went on to be a legal secretary and county worker.
In 1963, in Washington, she married James H. Kunselman, who died in 1968.
Surviving are two daughters, Mary Beth Monnich of Jefferson and Karen L. Butler of Plano, Texas; a brother, James F. Caton of West Alexander; two sisters, Florence Ellen Ellwood of Harborcreek and Peggy Smith of LaPorte; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are her first husband, Carl W. Monnich; a son, Charles W. Monnich; a brother, Charles C. Caton Jr.; and a sister, Emogene DeNormandie.
Mildred Temple
Mildred Temple, 85, of New Freeport, died Sunday, August 30, 2009, in her home.
She was born April 1, 1924, in Aleppo Township, a daughter of Stoy E. and Sarah Rhome Morris.
On June 18, 1945, she married Frank Temple, who died December 16, 1986.
Mrs. Temple was a homemaker and a member of Centennial Church of God.
She enjoyed traveling.
Surviving are a stepson, Frank Temple Jr. (Imogene) of Cameron, W.Va.; three step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; a step-great-great-granddaughter; two sisters, Mabel Crawford of Holbrook and Betty Jean Weaver of New Freeport; three brothers, Harry N. Morris, Jack Morris and Herman Morris, all of Holbrook; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a sister, Vada Pettit; a niece; and a great-nephew.
Ruth Nashwinter Simons Uram
Ruth Nashwinter Simons Uram, 86, of Carmichaels, died at 9:30 p.m. Sunday, August 30, 2009, in Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, Waynesburg.
She was born June 10, 1923, in Meyersdale, a daughter of Leo and Emma Cramer Nashwinter.
Mrs. Uram resided in Carmichaels for a number of years, where she had been employed as a cook at the former Guardian Angel Personal Care Home in Carmichaels.
She enjoyed cooking, baking and playing bingo and was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Surviving are two sons, William R. Simons Sr. of Carmichaels and Robert E. Simons Jr. and wife Kathy of Masontown; two daughters, Judith Rush and husband Bruce and Patty L. Helmick and husband Earl, both of Carmichaels; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a sister, Grace Baker and husband Paul of Carmichaels; several nieces and nephews; and the father of her children, Robert E. Simons Sr. of Carmichaels.
Deceased are her second husband, Andrew Uram; four brothers, Ralph, Raymond, Fred and Bruce Nashwinter; and a sister, Catherine Petrovich.
Larry Clyde Roy
Larry Clyde Roy, 61, of Morgantown, W.Va., passed away unexpectedly Monday, August 31, 2009, in his home.
He was born June 10, 1948, in Waynesburg, a son of Edna Shahan Roy of Kirby and the late Clyde Roy.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife of 36 years, Mary McIntyre Roy, whom he married June 8, 1973; a brother, Gary Roy and wife Kim of Mt. Morris; a sister, Sharon Hixenbaugh and husband Shirrel of Kirby; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law who loved him as a brother, Maxine and George Solt of Morgantown, Robert and Shirley McIntyre of Newburg, W.Va., Thelma and Michael Stone, Billie Jo and Jeff Osecky and Scott McIntyre, all of Morgantown; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
Deceased, in addition to his father, are grandparents Verona and Kenneth Shahan; a niece, Patty Jo Becker; a sister-in-law, Martha Sturba; and a brother-in-law, Giulio Sturba.

Marquetia Funk Stewart Six
Marquetia Funk Stewart Six, 74, of Prosperity, died at 7:55 p.m. Monday, August 31, 2009, in Southwest Regional Medical Center, Waynesburg, following a short illness.
She was born Saturday, July 20, 1935, in Swarts, a daughter of Hal E. Funk Sr. and Sylvia White Funk.
Mrs. Six was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Ruff Creek.
She was past president of the women’s auxiliary of James Farrell American Legion Post 330 in Waynesburg.
Mrs. Six worked for several years as a clerk for Ames Department Store in Waynesburg and was a homemaker.
She always enjoyed flowers and birds.
Her first husband, Ephraim Alexander (Pete) Stewart, whom she married January 26, 1955, died October 5, 1978.
On September 15, 1990, she married her second husband, Kenneth J. Six, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Correan J. Stewart of Waynesburg; three sons and their spouses, David A. and Carol Stewart of Washington, Rodman W. and Stephanie Stewart of Ruff Creek and Brett and Tina Stewart of Ruff Creek; two granddaughters, Heather and Ashley; two great-grandchildren; a stepdaughter, Regina Six of Alabama; a stepson, Kenneth Six Jr. of Florida; a step-grandson; a sister, Constance Scherick of Cranberry Township; two brothers, Robert A. Funk of Munhall and Carl W. (Sam) Funk of Ruff Creek; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a grandson, Rodman W. Stewart II; five sisters, Wilhelmina Tustin, Arnetta Todd, Wanda Catalano, Elizabeth Buyn and Ramona Hughes; and four brothers, J. Warren Funk, Charles Earnest Funk, Hal Funk Jr. and Herbert Funk.
Robert N. Davis
Robert N. Davis, 63, of Jefferson, died Wednesday, September 2, 2009, in UPMC-Presbyterian hospital, Pittsburgh.
He was born February 11, 1946, in Uniontown, a son of Agnes Miller Davis of Masontown and the late Edward D. Davis Sr.
Mr. Davis was a 1964 graduate of Jefferson-Morgan High School.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
Mr. Davis was a retired coal miner from Emerald Mine in Waynesburg.
He was a member of United Mine Workers of America, American Legion Post 954, Jefferson, and attended Clarksville Christian Church.
Mr. Davis enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling.
On September 5, 1970, he married Bonnie Sue Ozbolt, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Kimberly Sue Davis of North Versailles and Michelle Lynn Shultz and husband Richard of Mather; a son, Robert N. Davis Jr. and fiancee Elizabeth Novak of Mt. Morris; a grandson; three brothers, his twin, Edward D. Davis Jr. of Masontown, Charles R. Davis of Mather and Glenn D. Davis of Dry Tavern; five sisters, Patty Kline of Rices Landing, Darlene Davis of Carmichaels, Marlene M. Woods of Masontown, Bonnie S. Tresco of Pittsburgh and Tammy L. Liston of Masontown; and several nieces and nephews.
John P. Sabo
John P. Sabo, 61, of Waynesburg, died August 30, 2009.
Surviving are a daughter, Stacey (Kenny) Sabo Eddy; and grandchildren Andrew King, Jordan Saxton and Sean Sabo, all of Hundred, W.Va.
Paul Biskup
Paul Biskup, 68, of Brewster, N.Y., died August 24, 2009, in Putnam Hospital Center, Carmel, N.Y.
He was born June 17, 1941, in Waynesburg, a son of Paul and Mary Ulintz Biskup, formerly of Crucible.
Mr. Biskup graduated from Cumberland Township High School in 1959, and in 1973, he received a bachelor of science degree from Johns Hopkins University.
He married Carolyn Arklie in 1967 in Baltimore, Md.
Mr. Biskup worked for W.R. Grace and Co. for 15 years, after which he was the production manager of the New York Daily News for five years. He then became proprietor of Custom Printing in Elmsford, N.Y., retiring in 2006.
He had been a member of Knights of Columbus and Lions Club.
Surviving are his wife, Carolyn; a son, David Biskup, and a daughter, Kimberly Biskup, both of New York City; and a sister, Rosemary Biskup of Crucible.
In addition to his parents, deceased is a sister, Mary Ann Biskup, who died in infancy.
James Eugene Hart
James Eugene (Jamie) Hart, 65, of Carmichaels, died Thursday, September 3, 2009.
He was born December 27, 1943, a son of the late John Talmage and Helen Guess Hart.
Mr. Hart lived all of his life in Carmichaels on the family farm.
He owned and operated a dairy farm from 1966 until 1974. He then started working for Emerald Mines as a heavy equipment operator and diesel mechanic having retired in February 2007, with more than 30 years of service.
Mr. Hart was an avid racing fan and enjoyed watching NASCAR, Sprint and dirt-track races. He collected and rebuilt antique tractors, enjoyed square dancing with the Greene County Square Dancers, bluegrass music and oldies.
He was a member of United Mine Workers of America and Carmichaels Grange 1389. He was a life member of National Rifle Association and enjoyed hunting on his farm.
On January 27, 1971, he married Cheryl Ann Varesko, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, James Talmage Hart and wife Stacie of Panama City, Fla.; a daughter, Melissa Ann Ealy and husband Patrick Mark of Prosperity.; two grandchildren; a brother, Charles William Hart and wife Gloria of Dilliner; a brother-in-law, William D. Whipkey; a brother-in-law, Robert R. Varesko Jr.; and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Brice and Linda Rush.
Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews and cousins.
Deceased are two brothers, Bobby and Russell Hart; a half brother, Franklin Hart; and a sister, Martha Whipkey.

Diann L. Kisner
Diann L. Kisner, 56, of Brave, died Saturday, September 5, 2009, in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.
She was born February 8, 1953, in Morgantown, a daughter of Macel Riffel Crites of Morgantown and the late Walter Crites.
On October 12, 1974, she married Virgil E. Kisner, who died June 12, 2005.
Mrs. Kisner was a homemaker and resided in Brave for the past 22 years.
She was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 598 in Waynesburg, where she was a past officer and served on the bingo committee.
Surviving, in addition to her mother, are a son, Walter W. Kisner Sr. (Daphne) of Brave; three stepdaughters, Jane L. Smouse of Graysville, Ohio, Sharon A. Brown of Woodsville, Ohio, and Virginia A. Alabran of Greenville; six grandchildren; 15 step-grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; three sisters, Nancy Simpkins of Morgantown, Belinda Stiles of Wadestown, W.Va., and Melinda Lawson of Core, W.Va.; and two brothers, Robert Crites of Maidsville, W.Va., and Charles Crites of Granville, W.Va.
Deceased are a stepson, Larry Lee Kisner; and a stepgranddaughter.
