Mr. and Mrs. Richard L. Johnston of Lemont Furnace celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married Sept. 12, 1959, at St. Mary the Nativity Church, Uniontown.

Mrs. Johnson is the former Janet Conroy, daughter of the late Lawrence and Mildred Conroy of Lemont Furnace.

Mr. Johnston is the son of the late Burt and Gladys Johnston of Donora. He is a retired master sergeant with the United States Air Force. He is employed part-time at Arnold’s Appliance in Uniontown.

They are the parents of Jim and his wife, Pam; Dick and his wife Barb; Susan Leisher and her husband Willie; and Daniel.

Their grandchildren are Miranda, Arianna, Joshua, Jacob, Stephanie, Jessica, Justina, Samantha, Brianna and Olivia.

The Johnston’s also have three great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Ethan and Zoey.

A family celebration was held Sept. 6 at Caileigh’s Restaurant in Uniontown.
