Alberta Ford

Alberta Ford, 87, of Uniontown, Pa., slept into the arms of Jesus on Friday, September 11, 2009 surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 25, 1922 in Columbia, SC, daughter of the late Edward and Marie Good.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Daniel Ford, a daughter, Patricia (Wista) Tigney, a brother, Edward Good, Jr. and two sisters, Viola Morris and Hattie Mae Gibson.

Alberta was a faithful and devoted member of the Mount Rose Baptist Church for 70 years, where she served as President of the Usher Board, Sunday School teacher and President of the Senior Choir.

She leaves to cherish her memory, five daughters and three sons-in-law: Donna L. Ford of Philadelphia, Pa., Carla Johnson (Kenneth) Uniontown, Pa., Carol Y. Smith, (Robert) of Brownsville, Pa., Dana E. Dillard and Rhonda J. Randall of Uniontown, and a son-in-law, Charles Tigney of Romulus, Michigan; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grand-children and two great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves a sister, Mary Good and a brother, John Good (Linda) of Hampton, Va. In addition she leaves the following special nieces and nephews: Charles Davis, June Thomas, Dorothy Jones, Clara Dennis, Elizabeth Hooper and Norma Brazier, who was also her caregiver and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Family and friends will be received in the MOUNT ROSE BAPTIST CHURCH, 9 South Grant Street, Uniontown, Pa., on Thursday, September 17, 2009 from 4 to 8 p.m. and from 10 a.m. to noon on Friday, September 18, 2009 the hour of service with Pastor Brian McLee officiating.

Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
