Myles Gibbs, Sr.
Myles Gibbs, Sr., 89 years of Continental No. 3, Uniontown, Pa. passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2009 with his loving family by his side. He was born July 9, 1920 in Friendsville, Md., son of Playford Gibbs and Rose (Daniels) Gibbs.
Myles was predeceased by his parents, first wife, Mildred Fike Gibbs, daughters Crystal Gibbs and Betty Fazenbaker, grandson, Thomas Skelton, Jr. and brothers and sisters.
He was a veteran of WW II serving in the US Air Force Signal Corp.
Myles was a retired self employed carpenter, he loved to garden and to raise a farm and was an avid rifleman.
Surviving are his wife Rosalie Van Sickle Gibbs; children and in-laws: Myles Gibbs, Jr. and Patty, Terry Gibbs and Karen, Beverly Camino and Dana, Pamela Frantz and Harold, Elaine Otterstrom, Tina Uphold and Victor Hill, Toni Gibbs and Bill Wert; 18 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; five brothers and sisters: Dorothy Raymond, Genevieve Parker, Allen Gibbs, Paul Gibbs and Keith Gibbs and his beloved dogs: Jackie, Peanut, Cricket and Chubby.
The family will receive friends in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa. (today) Wednesday, September 16 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Services begin at 8:00 p.m. with Pastor Robert Karwatske officiating.
Interment will be private.
