Ronald R. “Bing” “Solie” Solomon
Ronald R. “Bing” “Solie” Solomon, 68, of Melcroft, passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at his home. He was born March 6, 1941 in Indian Head, a son of the late Raymond H. and Lois W. Snyder Solomon.
He was a graduate of Connellsville High School with the class of 1959, and was also a graduate of Waynesburg College. He also attended West Virginia University in Morgantown. Prior to his retirement in 1995 Ronald was an Elementary School Teacher for the Connellsville Area School District at it’s South Connellsville and Springfield Twp. Elementary Schools. He was a member of the teachers organizations, PASR, NEA. and the FCASR. Ronald was a member of the Davistown United Methodist Church, the Donegal Veterans Association 941, and a life member of the Connellsville Elks 503.
Ronald is survived by his wife, Janet Meyers Solomon; his step children, Rebecca Hall and husband, Bob of Dover, PA., Susan Pisczek of Dunbar and Bill Eicher and wife, Lisa of Latrobe; his step grandchildren, Vynessa, Lindsay and Aaron Pisczek, Robbie and Rachel Krise and Becky Eicher.
In addition to his parents, Ronald was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, King and Lottie Solomon and his maternal grandparents, Allen and Anna M. Snyder, his aunts and uncles, Lois and Stanley Wissinger, Blair and Ethel Wright and Stanley and Helen Dzielsky.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Paul Means and the entire staff of Albert Gallatin Hospice and also to his special nurse and friend Kelly Jo Trout.
Family and friends will be received today from Noon to 9 PM in the CLYDE BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., at the corner of route 711 and 146 Municipal Building Rd., Melcroft, where a funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 AM with Rev. Carl Ritenour officiating.
A committal service and interment will follow in the Mt. Nebo Cemetery, Champion.
