C. John Fox
C. John Fox, 94 of Garards Fort, Pa., died at 1:15 P.M. on Monday, September 21, 2009 at Point Manor Personal Care Home, Point Marion, Pa. He was born November 21, 1914 in Greene Township, Greene County, Pa., a son of the late Francis M. and Dessie (Pratt) Fox. John resided in Greene Township all of his life and was a member of the Mount Calvary United Methodist Church and a former member of the United Methodist Men. He had worked at the Buckeye Coal Company in Nemacolin, Pa. from 1940 until 1945 and then owned and operated his trucking company for 42 years retiring in 1986. In 1971, John began serving on the board of directors for the East Dunkard Water Association. He also served on the board of directors for the Garards Fort Cemetery Association. On August 15, 1936, he married Mabel G. Howard, who survives.
Also surviving are three brothers: Robert Fox of Cambridge, Ohio, Allen Fox and his wife, Ruth of South Carolina and Delbert Fox and his wife, Linda of Hampton, Va.; two sisters: Agnes Lemunyon of Greensboro, Pa. and Mary Jane (Janie) Hardy of Carmichaels, Pa. and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are two brothers, J. Franklin Fox and Thomas Fox and five sisters, Leta Fox Wade, Emma Belford, Evelyn Stewart, Ella Myrtle Morris and Bertha (Betty) Wilson.
Family and friends are welcome from 5 to 8 P.M. on Thursday in the YOSKOVICH FUNERAL HOME, (724-966-5500), Martin J. Yoskovich, Funeral Director, 300 South Vine Street (Route 88), Carmichaels, Pa. where the funeral service will be held at 2 P.M. on Friday, September 25, 2009. The Rev. Erwin (Woody) Wilson and Pastor Fred W. Tomlinson will officiate.
Interment will follow at Garards Fort Cemetery.
