Mary Elizabeth (Hibbard) Collins
Mary Elizabeth (Hibbbard) Collins, 67 of Fairchance, Pa. died September 21, 2009 in the Uniontown Hospital. She was born on January 1, 1942 in York Run, Pa., daughter of Bertha Hibbard Brangard of Old Wynn, Pa. and the late George Howdershelt, Sr. and step-daughter of the late Ralph Brangard, Sr.
Mary was also predeceased by her grandson, Donald Collins, brother-in-law, William Collins and sisters-in-laws, Louise Aleva and Frances Hixon.
She was employed at the former Winky’s in Uniontown and The Village Laundry in Hopwood.
Mary is survived by her husband of 50 years, Charles “Bud” Collins, Sr.; son, Charles Collins, Jr. and wife, Christy, Pottsville, Pa.; two daughters: Mary Lee McClelland and husband, Dennis McClelland, Sr., Fairchance, Pa. and Linda Sue Dillow and husband, Larry Dillow, Jr., Haydentown, Pa.; six grandchildren: Dennis Jr., Andrew, Haylee, Skyler, Cayleigh and Joanie. Mary was the sister of three brothers: George Howdershelt, Jr. and wife, Peg, Uniontown, Pa., Jim Brangard and Joy, Fairchance, Pa. and Sam Brangard and wife, Diane, Smithfield, Pa.; six sisters: Helen Clemmer and husband, Frank Clemmer, Sr., Fairchance, Pa., Lynn Bloom and husband, Ron, Tucson, Arizona, Oney Wilson and husband, Glenn, Fairchance, Pa., Laura Moats and husband, Wayne, Fairchance, Toni Zooner and Eugene, Smithfield and Jenny Shaffer and husband, Charles Shaffer, Sr., Fairchance, Pa. She was the sister-in-law of John Collins, Ronco, Pa., James Collins, Cleveland, Ohio, Betty Kaylor, Uniontown, Pa., Marie Hice and Rosie McGalla both of Ronco, Pa. Also survived by many cousins including, Brenda Morris of Fairchance, Pa. who was very dear to her heart, nieces, nephews and special friends.
The family will receive friends in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa. today 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and on Thursday, September 24, 2009 until 11 a.m. the hour of service with Pastor Charles W. McLaughlin and her brother-in-law Glenn Wilson officiating.
Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Fairchance, Pa.
