Maxine G. White, 92, of Hopwood, passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2009 in the Golden Living Center. She was born January 22, 1917 in Confluence, Pa., daughter of the late Victor and Rebecca Wright Griffith.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Gerald White and son, Charles R. “Ronnie” White; two brothers and three sisters: Glenn Griffith, Nancy Griffith, Dane Griffith, Dorothy Crawford and Mary Lou Grimm.

Surviving are her daughter, Rebecca Barnes and husband, Robert of Uniontown; two grandchildren: Charles E. Barnes of Hopwood and Melissa Barnes of Oakland, Md.; one sister, Helen Blough of Canfield, Ohio and numerous nieces and nephews.

Maxine was a member of Hopwood United Methodist Church, she was very active in the Hopwood Village Project and was a long time member of Hopwood Vol. Fire Department Ladies Aux.

Friends will be received in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, Hopwood, today 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday till 1 p.m. the hour of the service with Rev. Madison Stringfellow officiating.

Interment will follow in the LaFayette Memorial Park.
