Julia (Goodwin) Clifford, age 88, of Uniontown, PA, died on Sunday, September 27, 2009, in the Uniontown Hospital. She was born on February 26, 1921 in Uniontown, Pa, daughter of Edward and Mary (Gray) Goodwin.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Robert “Bob” Clifford, a daughter, Karen M. Clifford and brothers and sisters, Marie Goodwin, William Goodwin, Eleanor Forgie, Edward Goodwin and Genevieve Atkins.

Julia was a lifelong member of Saint John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Uniontown, PA.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Anne M. Clifford, CSJ of Ames, Iowa, Mary J. Clifford of California, MD, and John R. “Bob” Clifford, Jr. and his wife, Cherie of Uniontown, PA; three grandchildren: John Clifford, Dylan Clifford, and Melissa Clifford; a great-granddaughter, Heidi; a sister, Anna Mae Kelly of Uniontown, PA; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME, INC., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA today, September 30, 2009 from 5-9 p.m. and on Thursday, October 1, 2009 until 9:30 a.m. when prayers of transfer will be said.

A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. in Saint John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 50 Jefferson St., Uniontown, with Rev. Father Michael J. Crookston as celebrant.

Interment will be held in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, PA.
