Fire kills one person
BULLSKIN TWP. -A fire ripped through a Fayette County home Sunday afternoon, claiming the life of a Fayette County man. Officials said one man was unable to make it out of the one-story, raised ranch home when it caught fire.
According to officials, the man was believed to be in the basement of the Kentucky Street, Bullskin Township, home when the fire started around 3:15 p.m.
Firefighters on scene said it appears the fire started in the basement area, noting that the blaze was contained to the area and that the majority of damage occurred there.
Bullskin Volunteer Fire Department, assisted by multiple other fire departments, was able to quickly extinguish the blaze once arriving on scene.
The Fayette County Coroner’s Office and the state police fire marshal were at the home investigating.
