Violet M. Mosier Rankin
Violet M. Mosier Rankin, age 97 years, of Hyattsville, Maryland passed away on Thursday, July 29, 2010. She was born December 25, 1912 in Upper Middletown, Pennsylvania the daughter of Reno L. Mosier Sr. and Dora A. Hagerty Mosier.
Violet had been an employee of the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA) which later became NASA in Washington, D.C.
She was a member of the R i v e r d a l e Presbyterian Church, Riverdale, Maryland.
Violet was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William R. Rankin; her son, Jesse R. Rankin; and her brothers, R. Taylor, R. Rebok, Reno and George Mosier.
She is survived by her son, James L. Rankin, Hyattsville, Maryland; by her grandson, William Rankin; her sisters: Dorothy Quinn Mosier of Smock, Pennsylvania and Sara Evelyn Glisan of New Salem, Pennsylvania; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in DEARTH FUNERAl HOME, New Salem, Pennsylvania today (Sunday, August 1, 2010) from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
Visitation will continue on Monday, August 2, in LAUREL HILL PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., the hour of Service with Pastor Bonnie Hartley officiating.
Interment will follow in Laurel Hill Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
