Brownsville woman charged with assaulting police officer

By Herald Standard Staff 1 min read

A Brownsville woman is behind bars after she assaulted a Uniontown police officer in Uniontown Wednesday. Uniontown police Detective Donald M. Gmitter said Shniqua Konyel Jointer, 22, was charged before Magisterial District Judge Michael M. Metros with escape, aggravated assault, simple assault, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct following the incident.

Gmitter said the incident occurred as Uniontown police K9 Officer Michael C. Garrow Sr. was leaving Metros’s office on North Gallatin Avenue Wednesday.

Garrow said that as he was leaving the office, Jointer got into an argument with state constable Phil Michael regarding a warrant issued for her arrest in an unrelated matter.
