Football Steelers to attend ceremony
LATROBE (AP) – The Pittsburgh Steelers are closing training camp to the public on Saturday so they can attend defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau’s induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
The Steelers will hold a morning practice that will be closed to spectators, then board buses for the evening ceremony in Canton, Ohio. The team will return that night and plans to practice Sunday afternoon, a workout that will be open to the public.
LeBeau, considered one of the NFL’s most innovative defensive coaches, is being enshrined for his 14-season playing career with the Detroit Lions.
He played in 171 consecutive games, the most by a cornerback, and is tied for eighth place in NFL history with 62 interceptions.
