By The 1 min read

A McKeesport man suffered serious injuries when the car he was driving crashed into a utility pole in Uniontown early Monday. Uniontown police Officer Matthew Painter said the crash occurred shortly after midnight on East Church Street, when a car driven by Randy K. Dennis, 54, crashed into the pole.

Painter said Dennis was briefly trapped inside the car before being freed by Uniontown firefighters.

He said Dennis suffered severe injuries to his head and face and was taken by Uniontown Firemen’s Ambulance to Uniontown Hospital. Dennis was later flown by medical helicopter to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va., for treatment. An update on his condition was not available Monday afternoon.

Painter noted that Dennis was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The accident remains under investigation.
