Schlachter’s 2-under 68 leads after first round
The Club at Nevillewood’s Paul Schlachter was the lone golfer to break par Monday, shooting a 2-under 68 at Chester Valley Golf Club for the first-round lead in the Pennsylvania Senior Amateur Championship. Totteridge Golf Club’s Fred Stern was second with an even-par 70 on the 6,506-yard, par-70 (35-35) course.
Three men who play out of Uniontown Country Club are in the state tournament.
Joe Ruby is tied for 28th after shooting a 6-over 76. George Knapp carded a 12-over 82 and is tied for 66th place. Kevin Muehring is 84th with a 16-over 86.
The championship finishes today.
