Margaret Estella Gallatin
Margaret Estella Gallatin, 91, a former longtime resident of Bobtown, Pa., passed away peacefully Saturday, July 31, 2010 at Heritage Hall in Big Stone Gap, Virginia. Born May 21, 1919, in Millwood, Pa., she was the oldest of seven children born to the late Howard and Mary Belle Leary Seger.
She resided in Bobtown for most of her life until moving to Kingsport, Tenn. in 2008. A member of the Bobtown United Methodist Church, she was a wonderful cook and enjoyed crocheting. She prided herself in reciting the alphabet backwards and loved to solve word puzzles. She will be dearly missed by all.
Surviving are her loving daughters and their husbands, Patricia and Lou Faverio of Petaluma, Calif., and Noreen and Richard Howard of Big Stone Gap, Va.; five grandchildren: Jeff Faverio, Marci Allee and Wendy Kindlespire, all of California, Amy Greear and husband Burke of Kingsport, and Beth Keller and husband David of Ohio; five great-grandchildren: Jeff, II and Ajay Faverio, Kandyce Kindlespire, Steven Allee, all of California, and Maggie Gatley of Kingsport; two sisters: Martha Rainey of Oakland, California, and Lois Keller of Lakewood, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.
Her husband of over 40 years, Leonard L. Gallatin passed away on Oct. 26, 1984. Also deceased are brothers, Howard “Bud” Seger, and John Seger; and sisters, Mayme Wise and Betty Tanner.
Friends will be received in the RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, Point Marion, on Thursday from 4 – 8 p.m., and Friday until 11 A.M., the hour of service, with Rev. Woody Wilson officiating.
Interment follows in the Fairview Cemetery, Taylortown, Pa.
