0005914369-01-1.jpg Mario Vincent D’Auria, “Vince”, 85, husband of the late Rebecca A. D’Auria, passed away on August 2, 2010 at Orchard Grove Specialty Care Facility in Uncasville, CT. He was born January 30, 1925 in Uniontown, PA to Patsy and Catherine D’Auria.

Upon graduating from South Union High School, Vince joined the Army Air Corps in 1943, and was honorably discharged at the rank of Sergeant from the B-29 46th Photo and Weather Recon Squadron. After military service, he attended California State Teachers’ College and furthered his studies at Carnegie Tech with specialization in reactive metals. He went on to serve as an engineer at Reactive Metals, United Nuclear Corporation and with Electric Boat in Groton, CT. He concluded his professional career in 1991 serving as a consultant to United Technologies Naval Products Division.

He is survived by three sons: Robert D’Auria and Tom D’Auria of Terre Haute, IN, and Greg D’Auria of Norwich, CT. He was also the proud grandparent of seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, INC., 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown PA, where the family will receive friends on Friday from 9 until 11 AM followed by a service celebrating Mario’s life at 11 AM with Rev Paul Frank officiating.

Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill.
