Kent Mason Bartges
Kent Mason Bartges of Tidioute, PA and Chicago, IL passed away on July 31, 2010 at Weiss Memorial Hospital in Chicago. Mr. Bartges was born in Coburn, PA in November 1930 to Jacob W. and Kathryn Lynn Bartges (deceased). He was a graduate of Masontown High School (1948), the West Virginia University (1952), and the University of Iowa (1954). He was married to Sandra J. Bartges (deceased).
He is survived by his Partner, Alice Thanner, two children from his marriage, Ellyn (spouse Laura Finch) Bartges of Clearwater, MN and Kurt Bartges of Ramsey MN. He was the beloved “Grampy” of Lorna, Kody and Kelsey. He is also survived by his brothers, Richard (Tidioute, PA) and Joe (Charleston, WV) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Kent spent most of his adult life living in Hinsdale, IL and working with the Strass Surgical Group at Weiss Hospital.
He enjoyed fishing, classical and country music and was passionate about sports. He passed away at age 79 after a long illness.
Services are being coordinated with the STEVEN R. NEFF FUNERAL HOME in Millheim, PA and will be held on August 7, 2010 at St. James United Methodist Church in Coburn, PA at 11 am.
Burial will follow at Fairview West Cemetery in Millheim, PA.
