Ernest “Ernie” Smitley, Jr.
Ernest “Ernie” Smitley, Jr., 53, of Dunbar, PA, died Tuesday, August 3, 2010 in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born December 10, 1956, in Connellsville, PA, son of Ernest Smitley Sr. and Audrey Leonard Smitley.
He was a mechanic for Schmitz Tires and was a member of Pechin Chapel and South Connellsville Rod and Gun Club.
Surviving are his wife, Tammy Nahar Smitley of 27 years; children: Leah and Julia Smitley, Dunbar; brothers: David Lee Smitley (Barbara), Dunbar and Pastor Timothy Smitley (Jonie), Erie; sister, Nancy Jean Brooks (David), Dunbar; father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Linda Nahar, Dunbar; almost grandchildren: Ethan and Lauren, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by daughter, Rachel, grandmother, Bertie Leonard, and brother-in-law, John Nahar.
Friends will be received 6-9 p.m., today, and 9-9 p.m., Saturday in the BURHANS-CROUSE FUNERAL HOME, 28 Connellsville St., Dunbar, with additional visitation in Pechin Chapel, Sunday, from 2-3 p.m. with services at 3 p.m. with Pastor Lee Maley officiating.
Interment will follow in the Franklin Cemetery, Dunbar.
