Robert C. “Bud” Yednock
Robert C. “Bud” Yednock, 80, of Meyersdale, Pa., formerly of Point Marion, died Wednesday, July 21, 2010. Bud was born October 15, 1929, in Greensboro, Pa., a son of the late Joseph and Anna Yednock.
He graduated from Point Marion High School in 1947 and entered the US Air Force. He was employed for several years with the Monongahela Railway.
He attended California University of Pa. and graduated with a degree in elementary education. While there, he was an assistant baseball coach under Mitch Bailey. He played baseball in the Fayette County League for many years. He coached American Legion Baseball in Point Marion and Masontown and was an associate scout with the Pittsburgh Pirates in the late 50’s and early 60’s under the General Manager Sid Thrift. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved baseball, trout fishing and hunting. He and his wife, Patty moved to Meyersdale where he taught elementary education with the Meyersdale School District before retiring after nearly 30 years. He was a member of the Board of Directors at Meyersdale Medical Center. He was Roman Catholic by Faith.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Patty; a daughter, Mrs. Stephen (Anita) Kozinko of Jeanette; four brothers: Stephen of Herndon, Va, Albert of Harrisburg, Don of Waynes-burg and Bernie of Point Marion and a sister, Ellen of Bay Village, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Joseph and John, both formerly of Point Marion, George of Cleveland Heights, Ohio, sisters, Anne Grimm of Warrensville Heights, Ohio, Katherine Seibly of Bakersfield, California and Pauline Johns of Euclid, Ohio.
