0005917063-01-2.jpg 0005917063-01-3.jpg John Wyda, age 82, of Uniontown, Pennsylvania died on Saturday, August 7, 2010 at the Uniontown Hospital. H e w a s b o r n o n September 13, 1927 in Livingood, Pennsyl-vania the son of F r a n k Wyda Sr. and Anna (Sadej) Wyda.

John worked for many years at John C. Kacur Tire Service in Uniontown and then as a Teamster at Mark Thompson Beer Distributor, from which he retired.

He was a member of Saint John The Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church.

As an active, lifelong member and officer of the Uniontown Polish Club, John built many treasured friendships over the past 50 years.

He was an Army Veteran and Lifetime Member of the General George C. Marshall AMVETS Post 103, Hopwood, Pennsylvania.

His interests included attending Church Socials and listening to Polka Music.

He also had a passion for gardening.

John was a loyal and loving man whose philosophy was to live life, smile and be happy.

He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him!

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 38 years Deloris F. Wyda; five brothers, Andrew Wyda (who died in infancy), Frank Wyda Jr., Michael Wyda, George (Jess) Wyda and Charlie Wyda; sisters, Anna Fenton, Helen Wyda D’Zamba, Julia Wyda and Margaret Wyda.

Surviving are his Son, Mark Wyda Sr. and wife Kimberly of Uniontown, Pennsylvania; His Grandchildren, who he loved and adored: Autumn Wyda and husband Gabriel Fielding of Rochester, New York and Mark Wyda Jr. of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Dear friend and loving Companion, Irene Kalasky; Cherished Brother, Albert (Sonny) Wyda; Beloved Sisters, Marie Wydo-Shine, Evelyn Wyda-Rittweger, and Delores (Babe) Wyda-Lender of whom he was very close. He is also survived by many dear Nieces and Nephews of whom he had many “Favorites”.

Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. H A K Y FUNERAL HOME INC., 603 N o r t h Gallatin Avenue Extension, Uniontown, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, August 10, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and on Wednesday, August 11, 2010 until 10 a.m. when a Panachida Service will be held.

A Divine Liturgy will follow at 10:30 a.m. in Saint John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, East Main Street, Uniontown, with Rev. Father Ronald P. Larko as Celebrant.

Interment will be held at Saint John The Baptist By-zantine Cemetery, Hopwood, Pennsylvania where Military Honors will be accorded.

Parastas Service will be held in the Funeral Home on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m.
