Uniontown police capture man wanted for indecent assault
Uniontown police captured a Point Marion man wanted for indecent assault at a location in Uniontown early Saturday. Point Marion police Officer Jay Stutler said George Fletcher, 52, was charged before Magisterial District Judge Randy S. Abraham with indecent assault, unlawful restraint, recklessly endangering another person, harassment, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.
Uniontown police Officer Dave Hromada said he and Capt. David J. Rutter and Officer John Kauer were called to a location on North Gallatin Avenue for a report of a man trying to enter the homeless shelter.
Hromada said when police arrived; the man, later identified as Fletcher, left on foot but was eventually stopped and detained by police on Walnut Street where they discovered he was wanted out of Point Marion.
