By Josh Krysak 1 min read

PERRY TWP. – State police are cautioning Perry Township residents to remember to lock their doors and be on the alert for suspicious people following a rash of attempted burglaries in recent weeks. Trooper Matt Alekson said the latest attempted burglary occurred at 1483 Blue Star Road when an unidentified man broke into the home around 2:30 p.m. Monday.

Alekson said the residents of the home, who were not identified, arrived at the house during the attempted burglary and surprised the suspect.

Alekson said the suspect brandished a handgun and then fled the home on foot.

The suspect was described as a white man with brown hair wearing a blue bandana around his face. He is about 5 feet 10 inches tall, Alekson said.

Alekson said the incident is just the latest in a string of attempted burglaries in the municipality.

He said that other incidents have been reported on Route 201, Reservoir Road, Virgin Run Road and Cemetery Road.

Alekson said that area residents should be vigilant about securing their homes and report any criminal or suspicious activity to police.

Anyone with information regarding the incident Monday or the other attempted burglaries is asked to call police at 724-929-6262.
