Uniontown woman assaulted

By Josh Krysak 1 min read

Uniontown police said a woman suffered serious injuries after another woman attacked her at a bar in Uniontown early Friday. Officer Travis Shandor said Christine Holchin, 26, suffered a broken nose and injuries to her neck, hip, elbow and knee.

According to Shandor, the assault occurred in the parking lot of a bar in Uniontown shortly before 2 a.m.

Shandor said a 30-year-old Uniontown woman tried to instigate a fight inside the bar with Holchin.

Holchin left the bar to try and avoid conflict but the woman followed her to the parking lot where she repeatedly punched her in the face and then pushed her to the ground.

After Holchin was on the ground, the woman then jumped on top of her back and choked her, Shandor said.

Holchin was taken to Uniontown Hospital for treatment.

Shandor said charges including aggravated assault, simple assault, harassment, criminal mischief and disorderly conduct charges will be filed against the woman.

Her name has been withheld pending the formalization of charges.

He noted that additional charges will also be filed against a 27-year-old Uniontown man for his role in the incident.
