Church council meeting
Bobtown news On Monday evening the monthly meeting of the Shannopin Civic Club was held in the club hall.
A dance is scheduled from 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, at the hall. This will be a dance for all students. For more information contact Laura Sarapa at 724-639-7593.
Help is needed for work in the library located on the lower level of the club hall. Also help can be used on the Wednesday nights of entertainment at the hall.
The next meeting of the club at 6:30 p.m., Sept. 20. Dues will be payable to the treasurer at this meeting.
On Wednesday the monthly meeting of the Administrative Council for the Bobtown United Methodist Church was in the social room of the church with Chairwoman Shirley Gasti presiding over the business.
Pastor Gale Cobb opened the meeting with prayer. Plans were finalized for the Back To School Bash to be held at 4 p.m. next Sunday at the church grounds.
It was reported that the Bible School was a great time of enjoyment for all ages. Average attendance daily totaled more than 50 each evening.
The Silver Offering was held on Aug. 1. The treasurer reported a successful response to the special offering. All were thanked for their generous donations.
Charge Conference for the three churches of Bobtown, Mount Calvary and Taylortown will be held at 7 p.m., Sept. 22. All reports should be completed before this date.
After discussion of issues concerning the church and the grounds, Pastor Cobb closed the meeting with prayer. The next meeting of the group will be on the first Wednesday of September.
