Martin’s recalls fruit

Following a recall by Goya Foods Inc., Giant Food Stores and Martin’s Food Markets, including the one in Connellsville, announced it had removed from sale Goya Mamey Fruit due to the potential for salmonella contamination. The following product was removed from sale:

– Goya Mamey Fruit, 14 oz, UPC 4133109080. This recall includes all “Best Buy” product dates.

To date, Goya Foods Inc. has received no reports of illness associated with consumption of this product. Customers who have purchased the affected products should discard any unused portions and bring their purchase receipt to the store for a full refund. Consumers may call Goya Foods Inc. at 1-800-275-4692 with any questions. The phone line is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. EDT.
