By Josh Krysak 2 min read

Victim hospitalized for treatment Uniontown police said they have filed charges against a woman accused of assaulting a Uniontown woman during an incident at a bar early Friday. Officer Travis Shandor said Tasha May Walton, 30, of Uniontown was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, harassment, criminal mischief and disorderly conduct for assaulting Christine Holchin.

Shandor said Holchin, 26, suffered a broken nose and injuries to her neck, hip, elbow and knee as a result of the altercation.

According to Shandor, the assault occurred in the parking lot of a bar in Uniontown shortly before 2 a.m.

Shandor said Walton tried to instigate a fight inside the bar with Holchin.

Holchin left the bar to try and avoid conflict but Walton followed her to the parking lot.

In the lot, Walton repeatedly punched her in the face and then pushed Holchin to the ground, police said.

After Holchin was on the ground, Walton jumped on top of her back and choked her, Shandor said.

Holchin was taken to Uniontown Hospital for treatment.

Shandor noted that additional charges will also be filed against a 27-year-old Uniontown man for his role in the incident.

A preliminary hearing will be held for Walton at a later date before Magisterial District Judge Michael M. Metros.
