Lawrence Joseph Desmond, age 64, of Deer Lake Park, Chalk Hill, Pa., passed away Monday, August 16, 2010 in Uniontown Hospital. He was born December 30, 1945, in Uniontown, Pa., son of the late Robert and Sarah Williams Desmond.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Carol S. Lowe Desmond and brother, Robert Desmond.

Larry was a member of the VFW Post 47 in Uniontown, Pa., he was a U.S. Veteran.

Surviving are a daughter, Suzanne M. Oppman and husband, Christopher and a granddaughter, Lauren Oppman, all of Gibsonia, Pa.

Friends will be received in the CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, Hopwood, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., a Blessing Service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Joan of Arc Church in Farmington with Rev. Father James Popochok as Celebrant.

Interment will follow in Bethel Cemetery, Farmington.

A Parish Wake Service will be held today at 7 p.m. in the Funeral Home.
