Robert W. Clark School students raise $180 to buy goat, chicks

By Herald Standard Staff 1 min read

Third-grade class at Robert W. Clark Elementary School was inspired to make a difference after reading Beatrice’s Goat, a true story about a Ugandan girl who was able to attend school after receiving a goat from Heifer International. The class made paper bead necklaces and bracelets with a goal of raising $120, the cost of one goat through Heifer International. They exceeded their goal and raised $180, enough money to send one goat and three flocks of chicks to a third world country. The animals will provide a family with a source of income. Students are, first row (from left) Alex Mitchell, Peyton Woods, Isaiah Tyler-Armel, Kristi Hall, Sunny Yowler, Dustin Show, John Williams; second row, Jason Hibbard, Gage Nutt, Dale Martin, Jaylynn Tressler, Joelle Van, Jessica Quarrick; third row, Brooklyn Jones, Cyrus Fant, Atalaya Harris, Destiny Daugherty, MacKenzie Gumper, Sarah Kurr and Madison Shreck.
