Mary “Mamie” D. Ryan, age 87, of Dunbar, Pennsylvania died Friday, August 20, 2010 in Hillside Manor, Uniontown. She was born April 10, 1923 in Dunbar, Pennsylvania the daughter of James Ryan and Beatrice McVey Ryan.

Mary was a member of Saint Aloysius Roman Catholic Church in Dunbar and also its Altar and Rosary Society.

She was Secretary of the Saint Vincent DePaul Society.

Mary was a Girl Scout Leader for many years.

She worked at Burns Drug Store right out of high school, then for the Dunbar Sand Corporation for 12 years, and as a Billing Clerk/Switchboard Operator for 30 years for the now former Anchor Hocking in South Connellsville.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters and two brothers: Violet McVey Nelis, Edith McVey Moore, James T. McVey and John Earl Ryan; and two nephews.

Surviving are many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; and one sister-in-law, Lois Ryan.

Friends will be received today (Sunday, August 22) from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday, August 23, from Noon to 9 p.m. in the BURHANS-CROUSE FUNERAL HOME, 28 Connellsville Street, Dunbar, and Tuesday, August 24, until 9:30 a.m. when Prayers will be said

A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. in Saint Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, Ranch Road, Dunbar, with Monsignor J. Edward McCullough as Celebrant.

Interment will follow in Saint Aloysius Cemetery.

Rosary will be recited in the Funeral Home on Monday at 4.
