0005925531-01-1.jpg Shirley Coddington Tait, 65 years, of Uniontown p a s s e d a w a y o n Thursday, August 19, 2010 in McKeesport S e l e c t Specialty Hospital. B o r n o n October 21, 1944 i n Uniontown, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of Ernest and Blanche Artice Coddington.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband of 48 years, George Arthur “Sonny” Tait Jr.; and a b r o t h e r, J i m Coddington.
Shirley was a member of the Fairchance Church of the Brethren.
She was an avid sports fan cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Pittsburgh Pirates, loved playing bingo at the Hopwood Firehall for many years, enjoyed playing poker with her family and friends, and loved watching her hummingbirds as they fed at the feeders.
Shirley was a devoted home maker who loved to bake and cook and loving mother and grandmother to her family, her children: George A. Tait III and wife Lisa of Hopwood, Pennsylvania, Tina M. Tait, Uniontown, Terry L. T a i t, Uniontown, Karen E. Tait and fiance Kerry Harring, Uniontown, Wendy J. TaitTribble and her fiance Dale Anderson, Smithfield, Pennsylvania and Michael S. Tait Sr. and his wife Christina, Fairchance, Pennsylvania; grandchildren: George A. Tait IV, James Tribble IV, Samantha L. Tait, Michael S. Tait Jr., Holly E. Harring, RyanTribble, Andrew “AJ” Tait and Misty Tait; her special pets: Stripes and Lacey; sisters: Judy Fabian and her husband Edward of Uniontown, Linda McKnight and husband Dave, Republic, Pennsylvania and Clara Earley of Berea, Ohio; brothers: Ron Coddington and wife Vivian of Uledi, Pennsylvania, Gene Coddington and fiancee Jean, Uniontown, Gary Coddington and wife Peggy of Fairchance, Rich Coddington and his wife Margie of Friedens, Pennsylvania; sisters-in-law: “Phil” Coddington of Ohio, Nancy Campbell and husband Harry of Fairchance, Patty Campbell and husband Tim, Uniontown, Pennsylvania; brother-in-law, James Tait and fiancee Tami Porterfield of Uniontown; and many nieces and nephews.
Family will receive Friends in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pennsylvania today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday, August 23, 2010 until 10 a.m., the hour of Service with Rev. Gary McFadden officiating.
Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park Brownfield, Pennsylvania.
