Anna Mae Meikle
Anna Mae Meikle, 92, of Norfolk, Va., passed away August 21, 2010, in Lynchburg, Va, where she was residing with her nephew, Dennis Jones and wife, Elizabeth Jones, due to a lengthy illness. A native of Wickhaven, Pa., she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Jean Yachup, and widow of Robert A. Meikle.
She was retired from the City of Norfolk Department of Recreation as Assistant Administrator.
She was predeceased by two brothers and five sisters, Charlie Yachup of Wickhaven and Max Yachup of Wickhaven, Pauline Arbasak of Norfolk, Va., Jeanne Jones of Roscoe, Rose Everton of Virginia Beach, Va., Amelia Jenkins of Smithton and Helen Pagesh of Belle Vernon.
A funeral service will be held August 24, 2010, and she will be buried in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Norfolk, Va..
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
