Bertha A. Varano
Bertha A. Varano, 70, of Smithfield, Pa. died Monday, August 23, 2010. She was born June 8, 1940 in Mount Storm, West Virginia, daughter of the late Alvin Shriver and Elsie Wolverton Shriver.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Marlene Kay Varano, three brothers and one sister.
Surviving are her husband of 43 years, Guy R. Varano Jr.; children: Earline Reckart, Smithfield, Pa., Charles “Buck” Shriver, Smithfield, Pa. and Sara Zorn and husband Todd, Wright, Wyoming; six grandchildren: Misty Lee, Franklin “JR”, Brian, Shayla, Sammi Jo and Paige; six great grandchildren; sisters: Mary Cottrell, Lake Lynn, Pa., Diane Graham, Point Marion, Pa., Rose Lynn, Fairchance, Pa. and Sadie Mae Shriver of South Carolina and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa. today 6-8 p.m., Friday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and on Saturday, August 28, 2010 until 11 a.m. the hour of service with Mr. Ernie Dodson officiating.
Interment will follow in Mount Moriah Presbyterian Cemetery, New Geneva, Pa.
