Police probe robbery of delivery man
Uniontown police are investigating a report of a pizza deliveryman being robbed at gunpoint late Tuesday. Officer Dave Hromada said the incident occurred at 11:30 p.m. at a location on Coffey Street. According to Hromada, Roy Yeagley of Uniontown told investigators that he was delivering food at the bottom of Coffey Street when two men approached him.
Yeagley told police that the men told him they had ordered some food and that he then leaned into his vehicle to retrieve a bag of food and one of the men pointed a handgun at his face and demanded money, Hromada said.
Yeagley told police that he then threw the bag of food at the suspects and fled the area in his vehicle.
The suspect who pointed the gun at Yeagley was described as a black man, between 20 and 30 years old, and was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt. Hromada said he was wielding a black handgun.
The second suspect was described as a white man, between 20 and 30 years old, and was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, Hromada said.
Police canvassed the area for the men but were unable to locate them.
Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to call police at 724-430-2929.
